After a long wait, the Castleblayney Faughs are delighted to announce that the next phase of the St.Marys Park Development. The Club grounds will be getting the all important training pitches that have been long overdue and much needed with the increase in activity throughout the club in recent years. Purchase contracts have been issued and will be completed shortly to secure lands on the old club course site adjacent to current grounds and planning permission for this has been submitted. This is a much anticipated and exciting development for the club and follows a prolonged period of negotiations to secure the land from Monaghan County Council. In addition to the lands, the new top of the range floodlighting system is now operational and perimeter fencing has been placed around the grounds, making St.Marys Park one of the top GAA venues in the North East.
The club will require its members support once again to move forward on this next important phase of the club facilities development and to support this they are launching Cairde Fag Na Bealach again for new members. Successfully launched in 2012 as part of the first phase, this will secure the works required to be undertaken over the next number of years get done in a timely manner with the club funding part of the works from its own funds and drawing down on borrowings from the bank, to date the club are debt free but due to costs involved in acquiring the land and developing it, borrowings will be required at manageable levels.
To date we have had great support in Cairde and are asking for members to support this again with over 50 members still signed up. All signed up Cairde members will be presented with a new Cairde jacket, with 2 options available, those paying at higher level will also get entered into 50/50 draw and have their membership covered. They will also be committing to supporting the club in the development of facilities that will see generations of the Faughs enjoy and thrive.
To launch the new development and Cairde, members and supporters are all invited to the grounds this Friday evening, 24th February at 7pm for the chance to review the plans for the new grounds and opportunity to sign up to Cairde and receive more info on it. We ask that everyone attends to ask any questions they may have and it will also be an opportunity to see the new lights switched on, and they are an impressive sight, as the senior team will be in action under them. Please spread the word and we hope to see everyone there on the night.
