Club Notes 18/02/14

Registration Evening – Unfortunately the proposed annual club registration evenings for all Juvenile Players which was due to take place on the 24th and 25th of Feb will have to be postponed. More information on when this will take place will follow in the coming weeks.

Girls Presentation and Open Night – Friday the 7th of March will see the winning Under 12 Girls Football team receive their medals from last year’s competition. The presentation will take place in Castleblayney Enterprise Centre at 7pm. The evening will also allow Girls Football Chairperson Darren McQuillan, an opportunity to outline the exciting plans for Girls Football in 2014. Like every other part of our Club, Girls football is going from strength to strength with another huge crowd turning up for training on Monday night

Under 10 Fun 5’s – Last weekend saw the Boys Under 10 team return to Ballybay to take part in the new “Fun 5’s” initiative run by the County Coaching Development Committee. As usual all the boys played extremely well and a great level of skill was displayed.

Coaching Course – Paul O’Connor and the County Coaching team have been hard at work pulling together a number of coaching courses for February and March, this weekend sees the foundation course being run on Friday evening and again on Saturday in Corduff, with the level 1 Youth Adult version being run on February 21st/22nd and 23rd. The level 2 course will run each Saturday from February 28th to Saturday 15th of March. Wednesday 19th of Feb there is a course on Activate Warm Up given by Roger Keenan of the Ulster Council. Finally on Monday 24th of February, Tony Scullion will have a course on Back to Basics. All sessions start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.00pm, we ask all coaches to contact Keith Hanratty/Brian Sherry or Paul O’Connor to book your space on these FREE courses.

Lotto – The numbers drawn for this weeks’ lotto 17/02/14 were 07, 11, 12 and 26. There was no winner of the jackpot which now stands at €2,400. The four lucky dip winners were Ann Cole, Margaret McGeough, Brian Boyd and Helen O’Neill, Crossmaglen. Congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to everyone for their continued support.

Mouth Guards – Just a reminder to all players and parents that from the 1st of January, it is now compulsory to wear a mouth guard at all training sessions and matches. The GAA insurance scheme will no longer cover dental injuries.
