U14 Ladies: Our U14 ladies took to the field against Donaghmoyne in the Div1 Championship Final in Aughnamullen on Tuesday evening past. Played in reasonable conditions and in front of a good crowd the girls put in a great shift, but unfortunately came up against a very strong and determined Donaghmoyne team. This young team performed extremely well and worked very hard in getting to the final and this will only help them to become stronger and better players. Despite the result, the girls can be proud of their achievements and should stay optimistic for bigger and better things to happen in the future.

Senior Men: Our senior men had a good win against a determined Monaghan Harps side in the Greenfield Foods Senior Football Championship on Saturday evening past. Played in good conditions in Inniskeen the Faughs raced into a 1-5 to 0-2 lead by the 26th minute with Peter Treanor raising the green flag and Dermot Malone chipping in with 3 points, 2 from frees. Subsequently the Harps kept plugging away and by the half time whistle the score was 1-5 to 0-6 in favour of the Faughs.
Ciaran Hanratty pointed for Blayney at the beginning of the second half and the Faughs held onto that 3-point margin eventually running out the victors on a final scoreline: Faughs 1-10, Harps 0-10.
The result sets up a Round 3B clash with Latton this coming Sunday 10th September at 3.30pm in Scotstown.
