U12 Boys Spring League Finals, May3rd 2016

In what could only be described as very tough conditions for football, with strong winds and heavy showers of hail, the young Faughs stars of the future braved the elements to put on an excellent attacking display of skill, pace and movement at the U12 Spring league finals day in Cloghan.

First Up was the U12 Development team against Emyvale. The young faughs team adapted very quickly to the challenging conditions and very quickly raced into a lead, which provided the platform for these stars of the future to display their growing array of football skills, teamwork and excellent score taking in front of goal. Ionut Lungu gave a solid display in goals, while Jake McDonnell gave an excellent display in the full back line, well supported by Callum Campbell, Daniel McShane, Cian Malone and Nathan McArdle. The midfield duo of Sean Bishop and Shea Casey put in a very solid performance while up front the forwards Jamie Ward, Jake O’Connor, Joshua Conlon, Ryan Mullen, Daniel Kerr were always a handful for the Emyvale defence.

Next up was the Senior Team, again playing in very tough conditions, with Frequent Hail showers throughout the game. Playing against the elements, the Faughs lads displayed excellent ball handling and work rate, moving the ball at pace and working scores very well against the elements. Brandon McCague was solid in goals, with some good kick outs against the wind. The defense Joe Carey, Ultan McMahon, Nathan McArdle and Callum Campbell were excellent throughout, while the midfield partnership of Kealan McMahon and Niall Rice worked tirelessly, transitioning from defense to attack. Up front the forward were in good form throughout, with Kevin Flanagan, Ross Maguire, Thomas Hughes, Connor Ruddy, Daniel McShane, Ionut Lungu and Sean Bishop displaying some excellent finishing.
