Club Notes 19/02/21

Lotto: Lotto numbers for this week were 6, 8 12 & 28. There was no winner. Lucky dip winner was Cathy Evans, The Williows. Next weeks draw is worth an impressive €9100. All money raised going towards our new development so we ask all to make the effort and support the club.

Membership: That time of year again were our club memberships is due. As per everything else at the minute, the setup is different with club memberships and registrations been completed online. The breakdown of membership for the year is as follows, Adults 100 euro, Student 60 euro both of which include gym use. Juveniles 30 euro, Cairde 300 euro which includes player membership fee. Non player rates are as follows Adult 50 euro, Adult social – for walking track only 25 euro, Family 100 euro. Pay online by logging in and registering on returntoplay.gaa.ie or alternatively drop it into a sealed envelope at the various lotto boxes located in the town. Anyone with any issues or questions, contact the treasurer on 0879186640.

Last man standing: The club have launched their first fundraiser of the year in the form of last man standing. Why not get involved and have some fun with family and friends by predicting the winners of various premier league games over the next 10 weeks. It costs just €10 and is available to play online at www.castleblayneyfaughs.com/lastmanstnding. Closing date for entry is tomorrow the 19th February when the first fixture kicks off. We encourage you all to have a punt both young and old to to help raise some much needed funds for the club.

Pitch: Just a reminder that the pitch remains closed until further notice.

Cairde: Could all cairde members please return the tax donations claim forms as soon as possible. They can be left in the lotto boxes located in the town.

Well done: Well done to Niall Dignam on receiving his Monaghan county board volunteer recognition and appreciation award this week. Niall has been fantastic asset to the club and always striving to grow the club and always on hand to help out whatever it may be. Well done and always nice to be recognized for all your effort.

Juveniles: After a very constructive zoom meeting last week our coaches are in the process of getting their respective teams setup on heja and making plans for the year ahead for when we get the green light. Our new coaching officer John O’Brien is working tirelessly at the minute to ensure our continued growth throughout the juveniles and organized a zoom meeting with our U17 boys and U18 girls been presented by Dermot Malone and Sharon Courtney on been a county footballer, the journey and nutrition. A huge thanks to them for giving us their time and am sure the players found it very informative.

Club Notes 05/02/21

Juveniles: While nothing may yet be happening on the pitch, our club is working away in the background planning for the year ahead. This week our newly appointed head coaching officer John O’Brien got things rolling with his new committee of Melissa Conlon, Bróna Hanratty, Mark O’Connor, Niall Dignam, Philip Traynor, Ray McArdle and Aoife McCooey. An excellent team who have began to work on making sure we the hit the ground running when football is given the green light to return.

Coaches/Heja: The coaches are busy structuring the year ahead and are meeting regular at the minute to sort out trainings, Heja app, equipment etc. All players/parents/guardians will be soon able to get access to their relevant teams were updates on all aspects of training and important messages will be available.

Executive: The senior executive had their monthly meeting this week and although a lot cannot be done on the playing side of things yet, a very useful meeting was held were plans are been made for some exciting fundraising events to take place to help in the not so distant future to cover the cost of the new development.

Membership: Details of this year’s membership will soon be available and the different methods available to pay your membership. Keep a look on social media for any updates.

Condolences: Our sympathys go out to the family and friends of Joe Kelly who recently passed away. Joe played with the club for many years, was always available to give a helping hand and support the club in any way he could. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam

Congratulations: Congratulations to Gareth Duffy and Mairead Kelly on the birth of their twin daughters and to Declan and Kate Crowe on the birth of their son.
