U12 Girls: The U12 girls faced Brigid O’Neills in the Division 2 final on Saturday last in Blackhill. A tight first half saw the Faughs girls lead by a point at the break but a strong second half showing saw the girls pull away in the end to the delight of the massive support in attendance. Very well done to the girls and their management team . The future is certainly bright.

But undeterred Carrick gallantly fought back  and over the following  14 minutes hit back with 2- 3 to Blayney two points from Canice Murphy and Max McGinnity  to reduce the deficit to seven points leaving the score at the second water break Blayney  2-15 Carrick 2-8.  The last quarter was a ding-dong battle as both sides  found the net twice  but Blayney managed a one point edge in a period where Blayney scored 2-2 to Carrick’s 2-1.
