SFL: On Friday past the senior men travelled to take on Magheracloone. The Faughs got off to a great start with Marty McElroy getting the first point on the board in the 2nd minute.
This was quickly followed by a Dermot McArdle goal. Ciaran Hanratty added two points to make it 1-3 to 0-1 after 11 minutes. Magheracloone then took control and at half time the lads were down 1-4 to 1-6.
The game ebbed and flowed and by the 50th minute, Magheracloone were up by a single point, 1-10 to 1-9. The lads then took control of the game and rattled over 4 unanswered points in the space of ten minutes including two frees by Marty McElroy. Maghercloone got the last point of the game, but the Faughs had done enough to see out the match on a scoreline of Magheracloone 1-11, Faughs 1-13. There were some good performances all over the pitch, with Mark Treanor putting in a great effort.
Big Breakfast: The Faughs senior players did themselves proud and cooked a fantastic breakfast on Sunday past before the county game. Great food and even better craic were the only things on the menu. Many thanks to all who attended and a special thank you to all the sponsors for this very successful event
Cuil Camps: The Cuil Camp is taking place in St Marys Park starting Monday 10th of July. This year the Monaghan GAA Coaching and Development Team are looking to get the numbers confirmed as early as possible. The children will be getting forms through the schools over the next few weeks and we would encourage parents to return them as early as possible. For further details check the Monaghan GAA website or ring Brian Sherry on 086 2334287.
Feile: This year the Faughs are hosting the Feile. We will be posting more information over the new few weeks, but please support this special event to ensure all of our visitors have a great time and even better memories.
