Minor Team – The minor team returned to winning ways last Tuesday night with a hard earned win over Tyholland. Forced to field without some of their regular players it was a night where the depth of this year panel was well tested. The Faughs opened brightly with some good passages of play resulting in a brace of goals for Brandon Rice, which left the boys in green and gold 7 points up at half time. A good start by the Tyholland lads saw the gap narrow to 3 points before the Faughs fought back and kicked some nice points resulting in them pulling away as deserving winners. There were some good performances on the night by Joshua Walsh, Evan Comiskey, while up front Brandon Rice worked extremely hard and was well supported by Andy Mc Mahon and Free Taker Pierce Callaghan. The boys are now on four points with Latton leading the way at the top of the table on seven points. Under 12 Boys –The boys played Donaghmoyne last Saturday morning in St Mary’s Park, first up was the development team who put in a great performance over the hour. This team are very young but we have no doubt, there are some great players for the future among these boys, with some excellent performances from Leo Maloney, Shane Morris and Kean Huab. The Boys gave everything but were beaten by a bigger Donaghmoyne team on the day. This match was followed by the Senior Under 12 team, who also gave a very good account of themselves, Donaghmoyne got off to the perfect start and within ten minutes were up by five scores but the Faughs team settled and at half time were only three down. The second half saw a great match be played out, with some excellent football by both sides flowing up and down the field. Donaghmoyne again opened a six point lead before the young Faughs battled hard to pull it back to two points on the final whistle. Best on the Day for the Senior Team were Senan O’ Brien, Niall Rice, Cillian Hanratty and Caleb Mc Ardle.
