Club Notes 7th Oct 2014

Senior team – The Senior team suffered an agonising one point defeat at home to Ballybay last Saturday. Ballybay started the game bright and after twenty minutes led by nine points, but a strong finish to this half, saw the Faughs reduce the deficit to three at half time. The second half started much the same at the first, with Ballybay opening up another seven point gap, before the Faughs rallied again and with ten minutes to go, they took the lead. The last few minutes were exciting with the match twisting and turning, before a very late point swung the result in Ballybay’s favour. Final Score – Faughs 3-13, Ballybay 3-14. The results see us remain third in the Senior League table on 19 points after 15 games. Next up for the Senior team is a home game against newly crowned County Senior Football Champions Clontibret, on Saturday afternoon at 5pm in St Marys Park. Can we ask everyone to come out and support as we make a push towards securing a top four place in the league.
