Club Notes, April 7th 2015

Senior Team – After a good break the Senior Footballers return to action next Wednesday the 15th when they travel to play Clontibret in their opening league contest, throw in time 7.15pm.

Reserves –The Reserve team continue to make progress up the league with a good away win over Aughnamullen last Saturday evening. The Faughs opened well with a good point from Damien Hughes followed by two Ronan McNamara goals , one from the penalty spot which left the Faughs up by six point with just six minutes gone on the Clock, further points by Aidan McElroy, John Beattie and Fergal Malone helped the famous Green and Gold keep a four point gap at half time. The second half was a tight affair with both teams regularly trading points but a couple of late scores from Patrick Tavey and AidanMc Elroy saw the lads emerge from Aughnamullen with two points which now see us now joint top alongside Ballybay and the Harps. With Senior Club League action now taking over for the month of April the boys have some time off until they play the opening round of the O Duffy Cup away to Truagh on Sunday 10th of March at 3pm

Under 6 Training – No Training this week, training will resume in Rath Na Nog on Thursday 16th of April at 6pm

Under 8 and Under 10 Training – Training returns this Thursday night for the Under 8 and Under 10‘s with both team s on the Astro Turf at the normal time, the Under 10’s will also have training on Saturday morning in the field at 10am to 11.15 pm. Both the Under 8’s and Under 10’s have Go Games in Monaghan Harps on Saturday 18th of April with a throw in time of 10am.

Boys Under 12 – The Boys had a home game last Saturday with Donaghmoyne providing the opposition, the development team put in a good performance to win by two points with a great displays from these young lads, Joe Carey on Goal kept the defense well organised .Best on the day were the McMahon twins Caolaoin and Ultan, Ross Maguire and Joshua Conlon. The Senior team played the same opposition and also put in another good performance but were eventually beaten by strong Donaghmoyne side .The next game for the Under 12’s is an away trip to Scotstown on April 18th at 2pm and 3.15 pm respectively. Training continues as normal this week.

Boys Under 14 – The Development team travelled to Corduff last Thursday night, in a match which was played in thick fog, the boys put in a great performance to win two important points, best on the night was Fionnan Kelly, Ian Kindlon, Conall Mc Hugh and Conor McCooey. The Development team have a home game against Cremartin this Saturday in St.Marys Park with a thrown in time of 2pm. The Senior Team are awaiting confirmation of their Championship Semi Final against Scotstown which we hope to be next week, we will confirm details as soon as possible.

Girls U14 – The Girls U14 have their opening league fixture versus Latton on Wednesday evening at 6.45pm.

Boys Under 16 – The boys get their league under way this week when they face Clontibret at home in St.Marys Park, can we ask that you come out and support the boys. Throw in time 6.30pm.

Minors – The minor lads were awarded the two points last week versus Tyholland, they travelled to Kilanny for their second fixture on Tuesday night, check website for result.

Best of Luck – The County Team travel to Croke Park to take on Dublin in the league Semi Final this Sunday at 4pm, no doubt everyone involved will be out to show an improved performance this week after a disappointing display last Sunday. Best of Luck to Dermot and the team
