Club Notes January 31st

Club AGM: Many thanks to all who turned out at our annual AGM held a few weeks back. There was plenty of conversation and

feedback on the night – lets hope we channel all of our energy into making the coming season a very successful one both on and off the pitch.

Club Gym: Fair play to all involved in getting the club gym to the fantastic standard it is now. Lets hope all the hard work pays off in the playing season ahead.

Thanks: Thanks to Brian Sherry and Conor Fadian for organising and delivering the Child Protection Course in Iontas recently. Well done to the big contingent of coaches from both the football and hurling codes who turned out to get trained in this important aspect of our games.

Juvenile Training: Juvenile training will resume towards the end of February. In the lead up to this and the beginning of the playing season there will be a series of information nights for parents and guardians. Please watch out for more details in the coming weeks…

Support the Hurlers: Please be sure to get out and support the Hurlers as they attempt to capture the All-Ireland club crown when they take on Kilkenny’s Dunnamaggin in Croke Park on Sunday 10th February. Tickets are available in local Centra and SuperValu stores.

Well done: Well done to the staff and students of Our Lady’s Secondary School, Castleblayney who hosted a great coaching event on Saturday past. Despite the inclement weather all participants thoroughly enjoyed it. Some of the guest coaches and experts included Colm Nally, Mickey Whelan, Conor McManus, Banty McEnaney, Declan McBennett, Conor Laverty, Paul O’Connor and our own Declan Loughman.

GAA Survey: The GAA are conducting a review of the GAA brand and attempting to get to the very heart of what the GAA means to us all.
Have your say and take this short survey.https://bit.ly/2AMZIpE
