Senior Men: The Senior Team advance to the Final of the Credit Union Senior League Final after they defeated Monaghan Harps by a point in a tight affair in Gavan Duffy Park last Sunday. All matches this year have had only a point in them so this game was going to be no different, the Harps opened well and led by two points before the Faughs struck back through Dermot Malone and Ciaran Hanratty before each team traded another point before half time to go in 3 points a piece. The second half was another tough battle with the decisive score coming from a Dermot Malone penalty after Mark Treanor had been brought to put us three to the good with ten minutes to go, the Harps push hard and reduced the deficit to a point but the Faughs defence stood firm prevent any shoots on goals or conceding a free. Final Score Harps 0-8 Faughs 1-6. We now play Ballybay is the Final next Sunday at 2pm. Best of luck to the management and the team, can we ask that all supporters turn out in numbers to support the boys.
