The U14 development team continued their league campaign with a home game against Donaghmoyne in St Mary’s Park. Fresh off winning the Division 1 u-14 championship donaghmoyne fielded a strong team and were in control of this game from start to finish. Our blayney lads battled manfully all throughout the game, but donaghmoynes superior physicality meant we could never break even with them. Despite this there was flashes of brilliance from our boys with Paudie Heavin finishing brilliantly to the net after powering through the middle, Odhran Mc Ardles constant running and movement was a joy to watch and Ethan Smyth in goal pulled off a number of outstanding saves. John Joyce and Leo Maloney were constantly out in front looking for the ball to take their men on. Kieth Morgan and Cillian Hanratty took some fine scores when the opportunity presented itself. These lads are improving all the time and that’s a credit to the work they consistently put in on the training field. The team was led by captain Oisin Ward on the day.
