Senior Ladies: Our ladies were out on Sunday 14th with their first match of the year and our first time at senior level coming from Junior just 3 short years ago. We travelled to Carrackmacross to play the Emmets and it seems we picked up where we left of last year. We pulled away early with an 11-point score difference going in at half time. Carrick must of being told to pull their sock up at the team talk because as the second half started, they took it to a 4-point difference. It was point for point after and also Carrick scrambled a few goals but we kept the lead at full time. Castleblayney Faughs 1-20 (23) Carrick 3-08 (17)
Senior Men: Our Senior men were out also last weekend Sunday 14th. We travelled to Tyholland for the first round of the Intermediate League. It was a fairly level playing field, point for point as we went in at half time 1 point up. Tyholland pulled away with another goal at one point and the Faughs counter-acted with bringing it to 1 point on the 30th minute of the second half when the ref blew it up. Castleblayney Faughs 2-08 (14) Tyholland 2-09 (15)
Minor Boys: Our Minors were out Tuesday past the 16thwith a home game v Emyvale. Like it is in minor football there were plenty of goals but we managed double figures on points too. It was 2/3 for the lads as the final whistle blew and the scores difference was Castleblayney Faughs 4-13 (25) Emyvale 5-04 (19)
U14 Girls: Our U14 Girls A team got their season underway last night Monday 15th with a 4-16 to 6-07 away win against Emyvale in Division 1. A great performance from the girls in very tough conditions turning around a 9-point half time deficit. Well done Girls.
