Castleblayney Faughs Club Notes 10/04/24

Congratulations: Congratulations to our own Max McGinnity on receiving an Ulster Schools GAA All-Star, being selected as corner forward wearing No. 13. He truly is ‘a chip off the ole block’.

Ladies Senior Reserves: Our ladies had a home game on Sunday 7th April to Emmett Og in Round 5 of the Reserve League. Great result for them as they were down by 3 points at half time to clinching it by 1 point at full time. Faughs – 3:07 (16) Emmett Og – 2:09 (15)

Men’s Senior Reserves: Our lads played Aughnamullen away on Saturday 6th April in Round 3 of the Reserves Football League. Its was a close game Faughs coming in at half time leading by 1 point. When the final whistle blew, we were up by 2. Faughs – 1:14 (17) Aughnamullen 1:12 (15)

Minor Boys: Our Minor boys were away on Tuesday 9th April in Round 2 of the Division 1 Minor Football League to Truagh. Unfortunately, we were defeated, but there’s always a 3rd round.

Breakfast Morning: On Sunday 7th of April, we held our annual Breakfast Morning. It was a great success. We had our first breakfast at 9am on the dot and even after 12:30pm the doors were still opening. We would like to thank you to our senior/minor ladies & senior men’s team who helped out serving. Also, the chefs in Iontas for preparing the food.

To our sponsors but mainly to the people who attended. Thank you.

Field Development: As construction continues on our new floodlighting system on our new pitches we ask all coaches and players to be mindful of the plant and machinery on site, please refrain from climbing or interfering with any site machinery or materials.

A request is going out to ask coaches and parents to refrain from driving onto the walking track adjacent to the new field. There is a barrier that is continuously being removed, this is a hazard for children and also a viewing restriction for patrons when matches are on.

Mini Faughs: Fun & Games Training every Thursday 5.45pm – 6.30pm in Castleblayney College.
