Ladies Football:
- Congratulations: Congratulations to Faughs U14 player Aoibhín McDonald who won silver at the county U15 community games gymnastics for floor and vault routine. Aoibhín will now go on to represent Monaghan at the national finals in June in Kilkenny. Good luck Aoibhín.
- U16s: U16s had round 2 of Div 1 league at home to Scotstown Monday evening. Playing against the wind in the first half it was 17 minutes before a score was noted. Scotstown lead at half time 0-6 to 0-1. Second half saw Scotstown set the first score in a goal. The Blayney girls never give up and fought to the bitter end. Final score line read 1-10 to 1-06 in favour of Scotstown.
- Minor ladies: Our Minor ladies travelled last week to Scotstown to play round 1 Div 1 League in terrible conditions for both teams. Playing against the wind in first half some tremendous defending and hard work saw Blayney go in a half time only 2pts down. Blayney came out in the 2nd and played some wonderful free flowing attacking football with 3 quick fire goals saw Blayney pull away and record a comfortable 7 point victory. Final score line Castleblayney 5-6 Scotstown 3-5
- Senior Ladies: Our seniors were out on Sunday 21st with a home game to Donaghamoyne in round 2 of the senior league. Dispite being short a few key players we held our own against the four time All-Ireland champions. Score – Donaghmoyne 3-15 Blayney 1-09.
Mens Football:
- Reserves: Our reserves were on Friday 19th playing Clontibret in St. Marys Park in round 4 of their league. Dispite the point for point game Clontibret won on goal difference – Castleblayney Faughs 1-08 Clontibret O’Neills 2-09
- Wednesday 24th our reserves were out again with an away game to Aghabog. A game with plenty of goals and a score-line like ours, you’d win a game on a good day but Aghabog seemed to just be better on the day. Castleblayney 3-08 Aghabog 5-17
- Senior Men: Senior are out on Saturday 27th April in round 2 of the IFL with a home game to Truagh in St. Mary’s Park at 7:00 PM
