U17’s: Faugh’s v Gaeil Triucha clg on Monday 25th July at 7:30pm in the 2022 u17 league round 7.

U16’s: U16 girls had a home semi final against Aughnamullen on Monday evening.  With the high temperature it was going to be a tough one on players.  A close start to the game with a few scores exchanged.  Half time had the score line 1-6 to 1-3 in favour of Aughnamullen.  Blayney defence held strong but we just couldn’t get the scores up front we needed to get ahead.  The final whistle had Aughnamullen win by 4 points and go on to play Magheracloone in the final.  Hard luck to the girls and management on a great effort you did yourselves proud.

U15’s: The Div 1 U15 team qualified for the league final with a very strong team display on Thursday last at home to Monaghan Harps. The team settled well and held a lead early on before the visitors narrowed the gap to the minimum as the half reached midway point. However a goal before half time give Blayney a 4 point lead. The Harps flew out of the traps in the second half and their second goal of the half give them a 3 point lead. The Blayney side grew into the half and soon raised a green flag of their own to take the lead and they never looked back running out convincing winners on the scoreboard which wasn’t a true reflection of now close a game it was throughout. They face Clontibret in the final on 28th July.

The 2nd team have also qualified for their Div 5A final with a strong second half showing away to Clontibret on Friday last. Played in warm conditions, the team dominated possession but didn’t get the scores their play deserved until the second half. They played some great, quick football in the second half to seal the win and their place in the final where they face either Clontibret or Maghercloone, date to be confirmed.

No fixtures for any of the teams this week.

U13’s: Well done to the u13 development squad on winning the league.  A great bunch of lads who deservedly took top honours. 1 Cillian Callan; 2 Emmett Malone; 3 Dylan O’Sullivan; 4 Michael McArdle; 5 Aaron O’Connor; 6 Brenog Tavey; 7 Daithi McCarthy; 8 Mark Boyd (JC); 9 Max Lambe; 10 Donnacha Ruddy; 11 Bobby Miller (JC); 12 Jamie Irwin; 13 Ollie McGeough; 14 Harry Sibley; 15 Oisin Comiskey; 16 Paudie McEntee; 17 Cillian Boyd; 18 Bobby O’Brien; 19 Iollan Murphy.

U12’s: Its two from two for the Division 1 team. An opening away win against Truagh was followed by a home win against Emyvale on Saturday morning last. Up next is an away game to Maghercloone with this date and time to be confirmed. The Division 3 team opened their league with a tough start and defeat away to Corduff but they fought hard throughout and played the better football in the last 20 minutes. Last Saturday, on a very warm afternoon they welcomed Maghercloone to St Mary’s Park and the girls got their first win with an impressive display. Up next is a home game against Donaghmoyne on Friday the 22nd at 7pm.
