Castleblayney Faugh’s notes week beginning 29/05/2023

Senior Fixtures: On Sunday past our senior men travelled to take on Emyvale in Round 4 of the IFL. In summer conditions Emyvale got of to a flying start with a goal straight from the throw-in. The Faughs recovered somewhat from that early score and with both teams being efficient in the scoring department we went in at half time a point down, 1-07 to 0-09. The second half opened up a bit for both teams and it was Emyvale who got the all important second goal in the 10th minute. We would go on to be 6 down at one stage, but our attitude remained good and we clawed our way back to be within 4, but unfortunately Emyvale saw out the game on a scoreline Emyvale 2-14, Faughs 0-16. Despite the setback we still remain well in the hunt for league progression as we pass the half way point.
