Castleblayney Faugh’s notes week beginning 05/06/2023

Senior Fixtures: This coming Friday we host tabletoppers Clones in the IFL.

After the game against Emyvale, lets hope we can get back on track against a team who will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start.  Throw-in is at 8.00pm , St. Mary’s Park.

U18 girls: Training Monday and Thursday from 7-8pm

U17 boys: At 5.15 on Saturday the Monaghan u17 minors take on Mayo in the All-Ireland Q/F.  Venue is Carrick on Shannon

U14 girls: On Saturday at 1.30 the Monaghan u14 girls play Down in the All-Ireland Final in Clann na Gael, Dundalk.

U12 girls: The A team had a good win last week against Aughnamullen who refused to give up. The B team travelled to Truagh last Friday and were beaten by a last minute goal. On Monday last, the girls played Inniskeen at home and had to settle for a share of the points despite dominating for long spells. Well done to both teams and keep up the practice in the good weather. This weeks fixtures: the A team face Latton away and the B team are against Donaghmoyne at home.

U11 boys: All new players welcome. All new players welcome.

U10 girls: Training continues every Monday at 6pm. New players are always welcome.

U9 boys: Training continues on Thursday evenings at St. Mary’s Park from 6:00-7:15pm. New players are always welcome.

U8 girls: Training continues every Monday 6pm to 7pm in St Mary’s Park. New players welcome.

Under 7’s: Under 6’s & 7’s training on the juvenile field every Thursday at 5.15pm. All new faces welcome.

Cul Camps: Castleblayney Cul camp takes place from Monday 3rd – Friday 7th July. The camp starts at 10am each morning and finishes at 2pm. The camp will be an action packed and fun filled week of activity during the summer holidays based around Gaelic Games. The camp caters for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 13. The cost for a first child is €75, second child is €60 and its €50 for subsequent children attending the camp.  Each child who attends the camp will receive a cul camp kit consisting of a backpack, Jersey and 1/4 zip top. Congratulations: Massive congratulations to the county hurlers on their fantastic win in the Lory Meagher Cup last week end, the club is particularly proud of all its dual players.

Fitness: Both of our walking tracks are open every evening and fully lit from dusk until 9pm. No dogs allowed.

Lotto: Lotto results Jackpot €6,700 wasn’t won, the numbers were 09, 10, 15, and 24. Next week’s jackpot is €6,800. The 4 lucky dips are Moya Lynch, Bridie Bishop, Lacey McGuire, and Martin Morgan. Play online or at the lotto boxes in SuperValu, at Coyle pharmacy or Watters Londis.

Bingo: Bingo continues each Wednesday at 8pm at Our Lady’s Secondary School concert hall. Great prizes. Parking at Iontas. See you there.

Volunteer: The club is seeking the assistance of event organisers, choreographers, and all-around helpers for our major fundraising event in November. If you feel u could help, please get in touch with any committee member.

Referees: There are severe shortage of referees within Monaghan. A good supply of referees in needed to ensure the smooth running of our games. Anyone interested in refereeing to contact any coach or committee member. Thank you.

Golf Classic: The club has rescheduled the Maurice Hanratty Cup Golf Classic until August this year. Updates via social media.

Music Festival: Big thank you to Francie McGeough who has been busy erecting the festival signage, please keep the August Bank Holiday weekend free, it’s going to be a mighty festival this year. It kicks off on the Thursday night with a non-alcoholic teenage disco, followed by the Friday night headlined by the tumbling paddy’s, Saturday night headlined by the whistling Donkeys and Sunday headlined by Mike Denver. Lots more acts throughout the weekend. Tickets are now on sale check out www.castleblayneymusicfestival.ie for the line up over the 4 days Thursday to Sunday 3rd to 6th of August.
