Club Notes 15th May

Well Done: Well done to the minor team and their sponsors who worked tirelessly on Saturday past at their annual car wash, and well done to everyone who supported the cause.

In a relatively quiet period for the club, training for various teams continues. This weekend sees the start of the Ulster championship with the Fermanagh making the short trip to Clones. Throw-in for the minor match is 5.00 pm and 7.00 pm for the senior match. Come along and support the lads in their quest for more silverware. Tickets are available online, from the club, or from McMahons SuperValu and will be available to buy on match day.

U12 Boys: The under 12 senior team commenced their competitive season with a hard fought win over Magheracloone. After a shaky start the team settled into the game and via some good team play took some nice scores in the first half. Playing into a strong breeze in the second half the team battled resolutely to emerge victorious on a scoreline of 3-6 to 2-1.
An excellent team performance was the big postive from the game highlighting the strength in depth on the panel which will result in competition for places as the season progresses. A special mention to goal keeper Ionit Lungu who pulled off some great saves especially early on in the game.

Good Luck: This week’s good luck goes to to faughs players Jodie McQuillan, Melissa Carr and Shona Brady who will represent Monaghan in the ulster under 14 final this Saturday at 3pm in Augher. Also, good luck to Dermot Malone and the Monaghan minors and seniors as their Ulster Championship journey begins.
