Boys U-12 Senior: The senior kicked off their year in the Spring League away in Truagh on Saturday. An entertaining first half with both teams evenly matched ended with Faughs behind by a minimum margin. As the second half unfolded Truagh took control of the game and ran out comfortable winners. Best on the day for Faughs were Charlie McQuillan ,Brion Sherry & Tom Carey. Plenty to work on for this team over the coming weeks.

Boys U-12 Development: Our Development team visit Truagh on Saturday. For most of these lads this was their first competitive outing in a Faughs jersey and they acquitted themselves admirably. Blayney took control of the game from the start with solid performances all over the field. This continued into the second half as our lads grew in confidence and enjoyed their competitive outing. Hopefully these lads can build on this win and continue to improve. Best on the days for Faughs were Ben McDonnell, David Lambe and Jonathan Huang. The next match for the Development team is a home game against Scotstown on Tuesday 28th of March with a throw in time of 6.30pm.

This week’s well done: The last week has seen our young players demonstrate their multiple talents. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday last week the Boys School putting on a brilliant production of “The Boy Who Never Grew Up” which was the stage show of Peter Pan. This was truly a fantastic production with every child in the school playing some part in the production , well done to the Boys and Staff of the Boys School on three great nights. On Sunday we had a large entry of swimmers taking part in the County Monaghan Swimming Finals. All the children swam really well with a considerable number of medals coming back to Castleblayney. Finally well done to the Under 12 Development team who had a good win against Truagh last Saturday , this was the first time that a lot of the Boys put on the famous Green and Gold for the first time in a competitive fixture so well done to them all.
