Local Events: This Saturday 8th April sees Castleblayney College play host to a Bank of Ireland sponsored event: Castleblayney Enterprise Town. The aim of this family event is to showcase all that is good in Castleblayney and surrounding areas in terms of businesses, schools, community groups and sports clubs. This family event is free to attend and will run from 12.00 pm – 4.00pm. County Players will be available for photos and autographs, namely Jack Mc Carron, Owen Duffy, Kieran Duffy, Colin Walshe, Conor Mc Manus and Ryan Wylie. Marty Mone will be there with DVDs available for sale and signing on the day and a few special guests will also be there. Kiddie’s Corner with art activities, face painting, nail art, Easter Egg hunt, Ollie the Owl, etc… Please support.
Castleblayney Camogie will host their annual Easter bake sale on Saturday 15th April in the Scout Hall.
RFL: The lads travelled to Aughnamullen on Saturday past for a Div1B Rd3 game. Aughnamullen got off to a good start and were 1-1 to 0-1 up after 7 minutes. F Finnegan scored a goal in the 14th minute to level the game, and by halftime both teams were even, 1-4 apiece. Scores proved hard to come by in the second half for both teams. The match ended in a draw, Aughnamullen 1-7, Faughs 1-7. Best for the Faughs on the day were Liam McElroy and Aidan McElroy.
Best Wishes: Our seniors officially begin their season this week with a home game to Truagh on Wednesday night, April 5th at 8.00 pm (Note this is a change in venue and time to the original fixture). Lets all get behind Alan and the lads this season and wish them the very best in the months ahead.
