St. Mary’s Park Development:
Player participation is at an all time high in the history of the Faughs club seeing boys and girls from under six to senior levels using the playing facilities at St. Mary’s Park for training and matches. This has prompted the club executive under chairperson Mac Malone to turn its attention to the next phase of their development plan. This phase will see the building of a new playing field and running track at Onomy on the site of the former Castleblayney Golf Club adjacent to the current playing fields. The development will also incorporate a plan for the future development of 4 new dressing rooms with showers, two referees rooms, storage area for equipment, a gym facility as well as a social space for club members.
To help finance this development, we will be launching a draw with a fantastic top prize of €12,000 this coming weekend at the Summer Camp B-B-Q. One share of a ticket wins one sixth of the prize for the winning ticket drawn. Six shares wins the whole prize for the winning ticket. Example First Prize €12,000, one share wins €2000, six shares (a full ticket) wins €12,000. A full ticket costs €100.

Well Done: Congratulations to the ‘Blayney hurlers who retained their championship title against a determined Truagh team on Monday past. Special mention to all the Faughs players on the panel.

Commiserations to the county Minor ladies who put up a brave show but ultimately went down to a talented and experienced Cork side in the All-Ireland A Final. A special mention to our own Sarah Wilson who is part of the team.

Well done to the U15’s who spent their day raising funds by doing a car-wash at St. Mary’s Park on Saturday past.
