Club Notes Dec 13th

Christmas Lunch: The Faughs Christmas Lunch Sunday next 17th Glencarn Hotel, served between 4-7pm, Adults €10 Kids €5. A very relaxed social occasion open to everyone, young and not so young, for all the family. Dinner served throughout the 3 hours so you can pop in at any stage. The big man himself might even make an appearance. The 5 in a row Team and Minor Champions 2012 will also be in attendance. Tickets from Committee and instore at Supervalu.

Coaching Courses: A number of valuable coaching courses have been announced:

On January 4th the “Banty” will deliver a course on “The Role of The Manager”, with a focus on Key Values, Backroom Team and how to get the Best out your Players.

After this, Scotstown Senior Manager, Kieran Donnelly will facilitate a practical workshop on Small Sided Games, with the focus on Developing Fitness, Skill Level, Decision Making and Game Understanding.

These courses are suitable for Coaches and Managers of U16 up to Senior, but anyone can attend (Cost: 5 euro).

Venue&Time: 4th January in Cloghan. Role of the Manager: 7.30pm – 8.30pm (Indoors), Small Sided Games Workshop: 8.30pm – 9.30pm (Outdoors)

Monaghan GAA are running Beginner Courses in Coaching and Games Development in the new year. These are great courses to attend for aspiring coaches and managers, and include a Child Protection Workshop as well as lots of practical work and games workshops.

Venue&Dates: Cloghan, 19th/20th January; Magheracloone, 9th/10th February; Cloghan, 23rd/24th March

Juvenile Training: Winter Juvenile training is now finished for the year. Training will resume after the big man has come and gone.

Photos Needed: Joe Hanratty is presently updating the history of the Faughs club which was originally published in 1984, and is trying to track down team photos from 1985 to the present day. Photos would be scanned and returned to their owners expeditiously. They can be given to Joe or to any member of the committee. If people have photos and wish to scan them themselves and email them to Joe directly that would be great. If emailing photos would you please include team names and the year the photos was taken. If there is more information re; the match, competition and venue at which the photos were taken that would also be greatly appreciated.
