Club Notes July 3rd

SFL Men: Coming of the back of the away win in Clontibret, our senior men had a good home win over Magheracloone on Friday evening past. Played in energy sapping conditions, the Faughs got the first 3 points on the board before the visitors registered.

Blayney were able to keep the lead throughout the game but did have to withstand a Magheracloone fightback early in the second half. Unlike in some previous seasons, the lads stood up to the pressure and continued putting together some neat passages of play and even extended their lead. Another 2 important league points, but maybe more importantly the lads are sitting comfortably in the top part of the league table. Final score Faughs 0-17, Magheracloone 0-11.

Next up for the Faughs is an away league match with Carrick this coming Friday @ 8.00pm.

U14 girls : The u14 girls played at home to Donaghamoyne Monday evening. Another fine win for the girls give them 6 wins out of 7 matches in the league. The full panel was used and some great team work was on display leading to some wonderful scores Well done girls. No training this Friday evening due to muckno mania
Semi final to be played 23 July with opposition and venue to be confirmed.

U12 girls :These girls have played Latton and Aughnamullen in the last 10days coming away with two victories. Again they are developing as a team and working hard to secure points in the league
No training Friday but match on Saturday away to Donaghamoyne. Good luck with it girls.

Under 8 & 10 Girls: On Saturday past we hosted a blits with our visitors being O’Neills, Scotstown and Monaghan Harps. Though some of the regulars were on holidays, we were still able to field 2 teams from each group – this is a real a real credit to the dedication of all the girls. Despite the energy sapping conditions, the teams displayed great skill, heart and determination in all their games. Due to the numbers, both the big field and the juvenile field were used to play the matches. No doubt some of parents were kept busy traversing the pitches to check how their charges were playing. In a series of fantastic games, this experience really brought the girls on a lot and gave them a taste of real matchplay. Well done to all the girls, and parents please keep encouraging your children to pick up a ball and get playing outside.

Best Wishes: Best wishes and good luck to all our county teams playing this weekend, and especially any Faughs players who will be representing their county.
