Senior Ladies: Last Sunday saw another historical moment in the history of our club when the Faughs Football Club fielded their first Senior Ladies football team in their 111 year history when the girls travelled to Tyholland. On a beautiful morning the girls started well with team captain Laura McQuillan find the net early on to help settle any nerves and as the first half progressed the Faughs settled into a nice pattern of play with half time approaching they girls found themselves five points in front. The second half started well with the Faughs keeping the score board ticking over with scores further scores from Kym Owens, Aoibhean Fitzsimons, the impressive Eileen Cullen, Aine Clarke and Sheena McKenna. Panel for this historical occasion was Shauna Coogan , Laura McQuillan, Jessica Cullen, Tanya McGrath, Aoife Cullen, Maire McQuillan, Jacqueline Harte, Aine Clarke, Ciara Farrell, Orla Coogan Front row left to right Kate Deasy, Rebecca Treanor, Eileen Cullen, Ciara Kelly, Nicola Quinn, Kym Owens, Eleanor Doyle, Aoibhin Fitzsimons and Sheena McKenna. Final Score Faughs 4-07 Tyholland 0-02. Well done to the players, coaches and committee members for making this historical occasion happen for the Club, it is a great achievement by everyone concerned. The ladies next match is a home tie against Seans, Sunday 1pm – please watch social media as time may change for game.

Senior Men: Last Saturday saw the Senior Men’s team travel to neighbours Crossmaglen to take part in the James Hughes Sevens Competition, the team emerged out of their group to set up a semi-final versus Madden which they won but lost out to host Crossmaglen in the final. Well done to the lads on the day, from all accounts some of the younger members of the senior panel played really well throughout the day.
