Club Notes November 8th

Juvenile Training: The Juvenile training program is back this week. Any girls or boys who would like to take part in the training are more than welcome – just turn up. As well as teaching the fundamentals of gaelic football, the training is a great way to meet other children, stay active and improve teamwork and co-ordination skills as well as being lots of fun!

Congratulations: Well done to Our Ladies Choir who are National ShowChoir Ireland champions for the second year in a row – a fantastic achievement for everyone involved.

Monaghan Coaching & Games: Our Lady’s Secondary School, Castleblayney will host a set of training sessions for boys in 5th class beginning 8th November and running for 4 weeks. Operation TransFAUGHSmation: We are delighted to announce the annual Mc Mahon Supervalu Castleblayney 5 K walk/run takes place on Sunday the 25th of November at 2pm. The Supervalu Castleblayney 5K which is now in its eighth year has proven to be one of the biggest events in the local community as well as an established event for all local athletes . The walk/run, which traditionally marks the end of the 12-week training programme called “Operation TransFAUGHSmation” was put in place as a target for the participants to test their fitness by either walking or running the route.
This year the event will also see the return of the 2K route for all the Children under 14 at 1pm while the Senior Race over the longer 5K distance will get underway at 2pm.
The Mc Mahons Supervalu Castleblayney 5K is open to everyone and the Faughs club very much encourage all locals to don their trainers and join in on the fun, the run is a fantastic community day.
