Club Notes

Fixture: The county u20 ulster championship match V Armagh will take place under lights in St. Mary’s Park on Wednesday 22nd of March, any new signage should be erected before this to allow for maximum exposure as there will be a big crowd on the night.

Juveniles: Training has started back for all juveniles. New players are always very welcome to join us at any age grade. Please contact Ray McArdle on 087 138 3603 is you have any questions. 

U6: Training continues Thursday at 5:15-6:15pm at Castleblayney College Gym. 

U7 Boys: Training continues Thursday at 5:15-6:15pm at Castleblayney College Gym. 

U8 Girls: Training continues Monday at 6-7pm at Our Lady’s Astro Turf 

U9 Boys: Training continues Thursday at 6-7pm at Our Lady’s Astro Turf 

U10 Girls: Training continues Monday at 6-7pm at Our Lady’s Astro Turf 

U11 Boys: Training continues Thursday at 7-8pm at Our Lady’s Astro Turf

. All players need to be registered otherwise they will not be insured (for both training and matches). The last registration night take place on Thursday 16th March 6.30-8.30pm at St. Mary’s Park, Castleblayney A75 A034. 

Membership rates: Players: Adult €100 includes gym use; Student €60 includes gym use; or Cairde €300 this includes player and family membership for the year. Non players: Adult full €50. Juvenile and family: 1 adult and 1 child €40; 1 adult and 2 children €70; or Family €100. Please note all children must have an adult sign up this year. Cairde: The club Cairde payment is now due, we kindly ask all members who used to contribute via Ulster bank to now move to our AIB account. To set this up, please;

Fitness: The walking track is open every evening and fully lit from dusk until 9pm. No dogs allowed. 

Lotto: Lotto results Jackpot €5,500 wasn’t won, the numbers were 11, 12, 14, and 16. Next week’s jackpot is €5,600. The 4 lucky dips are Dympna McDonald, Olivia Hobbs, Louise Kingham, and Brandon Duffy. The club are looking for helpers to sell the lotto in the local estates now the longer evenings are approaching, commission is paid on all sales if interested please contact David. 

Bingo: Bingo continues each Wednesday at 8pm at Our Lady’s Secondary School concert hall. Great prizes. Parking at Iontas. See you there. 

Scór: Well Done to the Scór na nÓg quiz team who participated on Friday night. Thanks to Killeevan for hosting a very well organised quiz    the tea at the start of the evening most welcome. Best wishes to Clontibret in the next round.

Culture: Well done also to Ella Marie Bishop who sang a beautiful rendition of She Moved Through The Fair on Sunday evening in Clontibret.  The standard was very high and we wish Monaghan town competitor good luck in next round.  Thanks to Clontibret for hosting in a very comfortable warm venue.

Culture: A big thank you to all the children who wrote news as Gaeilge. You were all brilliant. Any students interested in writing a few sentences in Irish weekly for club notes contact Clare on 0860702195. 

Advertising: There are a number of slots still available for signage around the field. Thank you so all our new sponsors for taking up signage at the pitch, they looked great on BBC and RTÉ during the recent televised game. For further information please contact any committee member.  

Volunteer: The club is seeking the assistance of event organisers, choreographers, and all-around helpers for our major fundraising event in November. If you feel u could help, please get in touch with any committee member. 

Referees: There are severe shortage of referees within Monaghan. A good supply of referees in needed to ensure the smooth running of our games. Anyone interested in refereeing to contact any coach or committee member. Thank you. 

Music Festival: The club music festival is taking place on the August Bank Holiday weekend. It kicks off on the Thursday night with a non-alcoholic teenage disco, followed by the Friday night headlined by the tumbling paddy’s, Saturday night headlined by the whistling Donkeys and Sunday headlined by Mike Denver. Lots more acts throughout the weekend. 

Public info night: Drug awareness and prevention information night in Castleblayney College on Monday 20th March at 8pm. This is ran by An Garda Siochana and is open to parents of the school, student over 16 years old and the wider community.
