Faughs Girls Guest Tea

Its hard to imagine that little over four years ago, the Faughs Club had no girls football teams; especially hard to believe when you see over 90 girls attending training weekly, with the Club competing from U12s up to Minor level. Last year the Club started a new initiative with all teams, whereby they came up with a fundraising concept to help with the running costs associated with their teams, and this year the Girls are first to kick start the fundraising with their Guest Tea Party, this Sunday 22nd Feb, Iontas, 4-6pm. Grainne Miller, Girls Coach explains the concept ” The Girls when coming up with ideas for fundraising where adamant they wanted to do something Social, to get as many people together for a bit of craic, and so the idea of a Guest Tea Party seemed perfect. So how does it work, quite simply, there are tables of 10 for €100 or half tables of 5 for €50. The idea would be that one person would take charge of the table, however all their guests would pay €10 each so that the person in charge would not be responsible for the whole cost of the table. Also, and this is the important bit, whoever is in charge of the table, is also in charge of supplying the food. Again we would encourage everyone attending to being something with them, sandwiches, buns, cakes, its up to you, whatever tickles your fancy as they say. The tea & coffee will be supplied by the Club on the day.” Lisa McGlynn, part of the organising committee continues “The whole idea of the Guest Tea, is to put the organisers to as little cost as possible and this is why we are asking the people attending to supply the foosies. This in turn means, that all monies raised on the day can go straight to the Girls and helping with their training costs for the coming year. It promises to be a fun evening and we really hope that everyone will support the Girls”. Response so far has been great, with tables filling up fast, however we will never turn anyone away, and will always make room for anyone who wishes to attend. If you want to purchase a table or half a table please contact Grainne on 086 8454508 or Lisa Mc Glynn on 087 9410788.
Looking forward to seeing ye all on Sunday, for a wee cuppa & a chat, and to show our support to the Faughs Girls who have worked so hard over the last couple of years.
