Fill up with a Faughs Big Breakfast before Monaghan Championship QF

This Sunday, May 24th, sees the Monaghan minor and senior teams take to the field for their opening Ulster Championship match against old rivals Cavan in in Kingspan Breffni Park. The Castleblayney Faughs are doing their level best to make sure that all the traveling supporters will be leaving Castleblayney with full bellies as they attempt to feed the Farney Army as part of their annual Breakfast Morning. With throw in for the Minor Match at 12.15pm and the Senior game with a 2pm start, the Club Officials and players have been hard at working practicing their cooking skills so that all eggs are served sunny side up and all tables are served swiftly to allow the customers to come in early, get served and them move onto Cavan.

The first breakfast is expected to be on the table for 9am and the club officials will serve right up to 12pm. At €8 per person it represents great value for every customer.

The Club Senior Secretary Melissa Conlon explained the thought behind the concept “We ran the event last year and it was a great success, we were asked by a number of people from around the town would we do the Breakfast morning again before the Cavan game as it allows people to get something substantial in their stomachs before they head off for the day. It should be a great start to what hopefully will be a great day for all Monaghan supporters, something good to eat, lots of local people and a big local Derby to get the chat going between all the people. There will be no doubt that there will be plenty of football talked in Iontas on Sunday morning. We hope that people come out in large numbers to support the fundraise and as alwys, the club really appreciates the support that we get from the people of the area, We have to say a special thanks to all the sponsors who have got behind the breakfast morning, their support is always valued by everyone within the Club. If you fancy a nice breakfast and a bit of craic this Sunday then Iontas sounds like the place to be.”
