Senior Championship:
Capture

On Sunday past in Aughnamullen, the Faughs did enough to see off the challenge of Killanny in Round 1B of the GreenField Foods Senior Football Championship. In a solid display
, Mark Kelly kicked 5 points from play, while Mark Treanor raised the only green flag of the game in the 22nd minute.
The Faughs were never behind in the contest, and at halftime were well up on a scoreline of 1-07 to 0-4. In an evenly matched 2nd half both teams scored 6 points to leave the final score Faughs 1-13, Killanny 0-10.
Mark Kelly turned in a good performance with 5 points from play and was ably assisted by Mark Treanor who raised the green flag in the 22nd minute.
Next up in the Championship is a meeting with Monaghan Harps in Round 2B, scheduled for Saturday September 2nd, 7.30 pm in Inniskeen.

U14 Girls Championship S/F: Our U14 girls put in a great performance to see off the challenge of Emyvale on Monday evening past. Played under the floodlights in damp conditions at St. Marys Park, the girls led from the start and came out convincing winners. After some great performances all over the pitch, let’s hope the girls go all the way and take home the silverware in the final!

Tuesday, 22nd August is Registration Night for the ever-popular Operation TransFAUGHSmation. It promises to be will be bigger and better than ever, so spread the word and be sure to get signed up on the night.



Good Luck: Best wishes and good luck to our minor boys who take on Monaghan Harps in the Div2 League final on Tuesday (22nd August) at 6.45pm in Drumhowan.

With the Juvenile Season now turning to the semi-final and finals stage the intensity and emotion will duly rise, can we ask that all GAA Patrons attending games involving our Club remember that these are children’s matches and with children playing as well as refereeing, the coaches are volunteers, the future of our club depends on all of us developing the youth so we ask that any verbal contributions that you make are positive and supportive.
