Club Notes – July 13th

SFC Ladies: The ladies had a fantastic win against a fancied Tyholland side last Friday evening past. The ladies now move into the semi-finals. Congratulations to everyone involved – this was a marvellous result

Boys U15: Coming off a great result last week against potential contenders Magheracloone, the Faugh’s U15s produced a convincing performance against Monaghan Harps on Thursday night to win by 30 points. This team are really peaking at the right moment and are a joy to watch in full flow. This is an adventurous team whose first thought is always attack. The Harps had no answer to our constant onslaught and kicking skills displayed by our boys. This result elevated us to top spot and guaranteed us a place in the Division 1 Cup Final. The final takes place on the 25th July at 7.30pm. These are boys to be proud of in our club and they would really appreciate your support on final day to get us over the line.

SFL Men: Our seniors came up short against a well organised Inniskeen team who visited last Wednesday week. Final score Faughs 0-13, Inniskeen 3-10. Next up for the lads was an away game against Ballybay played last night (Friday). Unfortunately Ballybay was the stronger side. We take on Traugh on 19th July at home as we search for some important league points – we would really appreciate your support.

Best Wishes: Best of luck to the Monaghan Minors and our own coach Mark O’Connor in the Ulster final against Tyrone this coming Sunday @ 4.00 pm in the Athletic Grounds, Armagh.

U13 Boys: Both our U13 sides are in league finals today (Saturday). The Div5 team take on the Harps in Drumhowan at 12.45, while at 5.15 the throw-in for the Div1 final takes place in Blackhill as we take on Donaghmoyne. We would appreciate all support as the lads line out in the finals – no doubt they will do the club proud.

Muckno Mania: Well done to everyone involved in Muckno Mania this past weekend. Everyone agreed it was a fantastic weekend, and thankfully the weather played its part as well. Special word of thanks to everyone who helped out at the Sports Day on Saturday which took place on the pitch after the Teddy Bear’s Picnic.

St. Mary’s Park Development: The club executive committee have agreed to move forward with efforts to progress work on the much needed second pitch. Watch out for announcements over the coming weeks as we seek to raise some much needed funds to help us reach our dream of a second playing pitch and associated facilities. We are hoping that everyone associated with the club can play some (whether large or small) part in this vitally important project.
